National law firm Holding Redlich has been recognised as one of Australia’s best law firms in the 2027 edition of Best Lawyers Best Law Firms Australia, with 38 practice areas listed nationally and regionally in the annual report.

The firm continues to achieve recognition in seven practice areas at the national level, with Real Property Law retaining National Tier 1 status – the highest accolade in the report.

Alternative Dispute Resolution and Construction/Infrastructure Law both moved up to National Tier 2, while Labour and Employment Law and Litigation remained in the same tier.

The firm also maintained its strong standing in Corporate Law and Information Technology Law, with both recognised in National Tier 3.

At the regional level, the firm continues to demonstrate breadth across Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane, with three new practice areas added to this year’s report. These include Land Use and Zoning Law and Planning and Environmental Law (Brisbane), and Alternative Dispute Resolution (Melbourne).

Holding Redlich National Managing Partner, Troy Lewis, said the results reflect the firm’s continued strength across key practice areas and markets.

“Our results this year, including new and improved recognitions, demonstrate the breadth of our capability and our ongoing focus on supporting clients in an increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment,” Troy said.

“Maintaining our National Tier 1 position in Real Property Law is also a strong endorsement of the depth of our property expertise we have across multiple jurisdictions.”

In summary, practice areas ranked at the regional level include:

Sydney – 11 firm rankings

Melbourne – 10 firm rankings

Brisbane – 6 firm rankings

Canberra – 4 firm rankings

Best Lawyers Best Law Firms evaluates extensive feedback from peers to assign an overall score to each participating law firm in Australia. Scores are compared to other firms within the same geographic region and at the national level. National rankings are based on regional awards, the number of offices each firm has, the level of legal activity in each jurisdiction, and direct feedback including client referees, diversity and pro bono efforts.
