National law firm Holding Redlich has strengthened its Queensland workplace relations and safety practice with the appointment of Partner Louise Hogg and Special Counsel Lilian Zhou.

Louise Hogg brings close to 20 years of experience advising employers on complex industrial and employment matters. She has deep expertise in matters arising under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), including enterprise bargaining, industrial action, transfer of business, redundancies, and dismissal-related disputes. Louise regularly represents clients in the Fair Work Commission and Federal Court, handling high-stakes litigation with a track record of successful outcomes. Beyond federal employment law, Louise has extensive experience advising on Queensland’s public sector employment legislation and the Industrial Relations Act. She is known for managing workers’ compensation claims, particularly psychological injury claims arising from management action, and for her proactive, risk-based approach to litigation and compliance.

“I’m pleased to be joining a team that understands the unique challenges employers face in today’s increasingly complex legal environment,” said Louise. “I look forward to working with clients to manage their compliance with workplace laws and develop strategies to avoid disputes.”

Lilian Zhou brings a strong mix of front-end advisory and back-end advocacy experience, guiding clients through the entire employment cycle. Her background includes working with the residential construction sector in Queensland, where she advised on employment strategy and regulatory change, including direct engagement with state and federal government bodies. Lilian is experienced in wage audits, enterprise bargaining, employment documentation, and workplace disputes including unfair dismissal, discrimination, bullying, and termination. She regularly represents clients before the Fair Work Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and federal courts, and is recognised for her collaborative and commercially sound advice.

“Joining a national team with a strong reputation for providing strategic advice to employers is an exciting opportunity,” said Lilian. “My focus will be on strengthening Holding Redlich’s workplace capability in the construction space.”

“We are pleased to welcome Louise and Lilian to the team,” said Holding Redlich’s National Managing Partner, Troy Lewis. “Their outstanding expertise and experience enable us to establish an employer workplace relations and safety practice in Brisbane which will become a core part of our national capability in this area.”

“Their combined advisory and advocacy experience in public and private sector matters and litigation will also deepen our bench strength nationally, at a time of significant demand for strategic workplace advice,” added Troy.
