National law firm Holding Redlich announces a new partnership with the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) ACT, becoming one of only two law firms to join as a corporate partner – and the only law firm appointed at the Tier 2 level.
Part of the firm’s commitment to the public sector and ongoing investment in building legal capability for government clients, the partnership reinforces its growing presence in Canberra. Since opening its Canberra office in 2021, Holding Redlich has doubled the size of its government team, welcoming new partners Jeremy Johnson and Nevin Agnew, special counsel Briana Briggs, Samantha Haddon and Tom Miller, senior associates Allan Quanchi and Nathan O’Reilly, and junior lawyers.
“We are proud to partner with IPAA ACT and support its mission to promote excellence and professionalism in public administration,” said Holding Redlich’s ACT Managing Partner, Elizabeth Carroll. “As a firm with significant experience acting for the Australian Government, and a growing base of lawyers with direct public sector expertise, we look forward to sharing our knowledge with IPAA ACT’s community of public sector professionals.”
The partnership follows Holding Redlich’s appointment to all five areas of law on the new Whole of Australian Government Legal Services Panel. This includes major practice areas such as workplace law, public law, corporate and commercial law, tax and financial services, and property and environment.
“Our team’s extensive experience in senior government roles equips us with a practical understanding of the financial, ethical and legislative frameworks that shape decision-making in the public sector. Through sharing our expertise and experience, we hope to continue supporting the sector’s ongoing growth and strength,” adds Elizabeth.
IPAA ACT is a member-based organisation that fosters leadership and excellence in the public sector through institutional partnerships with public sector staff, academic institutions, and Australian businesses and communities. With more than 150,000 members across 74 organisations, it connects a vibrant and responsive public sector, promoting a spirit of service, and strengthening capability across the sector.
“We’re looking forward to collaborating with Holding Redlich in supporting thought leadership on the challenges and opportunities facing today’s public sector,” said IPAA ACT CEO Kate Driver.
“Through our private sector partners, we aim to broaden the discussion of what it means to practice in public administration, providing connections and insights from practitioners – both within the public service and in the broader public sector – to policymakers and emerging leaders alike,” adds Kate.
