Australian energy and infrastructure landowner Lightwood Group has secured global asset manager and operator Keppel Ltd as the data centre operator for a proposed $10 billion data centre hub on a 123-hectare site near Morwell, Victoria. The project has the potential to become one of Australia’s largest sites for digital and AI infrastructure, highlighting the strategic value of regional sites for major developments.
Holding Redlich Partner Dinh Ptok, who is advising Lightwood on the project, said this development reflects both the growing demand for large-scale data centre infrastructure in Australia and the unique opportunities that well-located regional sites can provide.
Dinh will continue to support Lightwood through the next phase of the project, supporting their property and development work.
