Samantha is a property special counsel with over 10 years’ experience in the sector. She has extensive experience in the sale and acquisition of commercial, retail, industrial and residential properties as well as extensive experience in leasing (commercial, retail and industrial), acting for both landlord and tenant clients in most Australian jurisdictions. Notable clients include Australian real estate investment trusts (including Charter Hall, Walker Corporation, Mirvac and Investa Property Group), local governments, small to medium business enterprises and private clients.

Experience

Samantha’s recent experience includes:

  • acting for Charter Hall in its $32.5M acquisition of a property portfolio comprising assets in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, including preparing a due diligence report, reviewing and advising on leases and undertaking property due diligence
  • acting for Walker Corporation in its $3.2B Parramatta Square development, including reviewing contracts for the sale of land, drafting building management statements, drafting easements and positive covenants, advising on development consent conditions, negotiating with the City of Parramatta Council for outdoor dining licences and sublicences and drafting submissions to valuers
  • acting for a subsidiary of China Investment Corporation in respect of its various assets managed by Mirvac, including undertaking all leasing work for three of their assets
  • acting for Investa Property Group in respect of its highly publicised $150M acquisition of an interest in landmark building 420 George Street, Sydney
  • acting for Investa Property Group in respect of its property portfolio including undertaking all leasing work for six of their assets
  • acting for JP Morgan in respect of its highly publicised $250M portfolio sale to AMP Capital
  • advising on the proposed $200M acquisition of shares in Transit Australia Group, including preparing a due diligence report, reviewing and advising on leases and licence agreements in Queensland and New South Wales 
  • acting for various tenants in respect of commercial and retail leasing transactions, including Better Rehabilitation, Cerebral Palsy Alliance and Bridgestone Australia
  • acting for a group of landowners in respect of the solar farm and wind farm lease options to Neoen
  • acting for a renewable energy provider in respect of options to purchase land, including preparing due diligence reports
  • acting for clients in respect of leasing disputes involving COVID-19 rent relief, non-payment of rent, breach of lease and market rent reviews, including re-entry and lock-out processes
  • acting for owners of units for a collective sale to Grocon.
