National law firm Holding Redlich congratulates Joshua Yeldham for winning the People’s Choice Award at the 2020 Salon des Refusés: The alternative Archibald & Wynne Prize selection exhibition with his poignant landscape painting, Phantom limb, Smith’s Creek.
In his artist statement, Joshua Yeldham said Phantom Limb was painted following the Sydney bushfires, and portrays to him the long-lasting endurance of nature and its resilience.
Stephen Trew, Managing Partner at Holding Redlich, announced the win from the National Trust’s S.H. Ervin Gallery in an online awards ceremony.
“Joshua’s piece is very striking and reveals more each time it is viewed,” Mr Trew said.
“On behalf of the team at Holding Redlich, I congratulate Joshua for achieving the People’s Choice Award recognition and look forward to seeing his body of work grow.”
Now in its 22nd year, Mr Trew said Holding Redlich is proud to be the principle sponsor of the Salon des Refusés exhibition, the firm’s longest-standing arts partnership.
“Holding Redlich prides itself on its long-standing support for the arts, a tradition that stems from the firm’s founder Peter Redlich, well-known for his love of the arts,” Mr Trew said.
Each year the People’s Choice Award winner is voted by visitors to the annual exhibition, held at the National Trust’s SH Ervin Gallery in Sydney.
