National law firm Holding Redlich has today been announced as one of 44 law firms named as a 5-Star Employer of Choice by Australasian Lawyer. The annual report captures how the leading legal employers in Australia and New Zealand are navigating intense competition for talent, growing workloads and shifting workforce expectations while delivering exceptional employee experiences.
Over the past year, Holding Redlich has made significant strides in promoting gender diversity, with greater female representation at the senior lawyer and partnership levels. The firm also received its 17th consecutive citation as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality from the Australian Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA), and maintained a gender pay gap well below the industry benchmark.
The firm’s Flexibility@HR policy continues to support employees with flexible location, hours, leave and dress options, with more than 65% of its people utilising these arrangements. Its Parental Leave Policy also provides a range of paid leave options, flexible return-to-work arrangements and full superannuation payments for the first 12 months of parental leave for primary carers.
Speaking to Australasian Lawyer, National Managing Partner Troy Lewis says the firm has long been ahead of the curve when it comes to inclusion, flexibility and culture.
"By elevating talented women into leadership positions, we not only strengthen the firm’s diversity and decision-making, but we also set a powerful example for the industry as a whole”, said Troy. "We also send a clear message to our employees that working from home is both encouraged and supported and does not present a barrier to professional growth or career progression”.
This year’s list of 5-Star Employers of Choice is based on a rigorous assessment of law firms’ employee-centred programs over the past 12 months. Firms were evaluated based on factors such as remuneration, training and professional development, career progression, diversity and inclusion, access to technology and resources, communication, leadership, work-life balance, health and wellbeing, reward and recognition, and recruitment. Submissions included both quantitative and qualitative information detailing initiatives and achievements.
