Mara is a Senior Associate in our Property, Planning and Development Group with experience in a range of real estate transactions and projects, commercial and retail leasing, licensing agreements, mortgages and legal due diligence. 

She acts for government departments, statutory authorities, superannuation funds, property developers, charitable organisations and private clients.

Mara is named a Rising Star lawyer in the 2022 listing of Victorian property and real estate lawyers by Doyle's Guide.

Experience

Mara’s recent experience includes: 

  • acting in relation to acquisitions and disposals of commercial, industrial and retail properties throughout Victoria and South Australia
  • advising in relation to the acquisition of commercial office building, including extensive lease and general property due diligence
  • acting in the acquisition of commercial property portfolio, including undertaking comprehensive due diligence, preparation of stamp duty application and co-ordinating settlement
  • acting in the sale and lease back of industrial site, including drafting, negotiating and advising on contracts, lease, ancillary deeds and other sale documents, preparation of disclosure documents and co-ordinating settlement drafting, reviewing, advising on, negotiating and settling disclosure documents, agreement for leases, leases, subleases, incentive deeds and ancillary agreements for commercial and retail landlords and tenants conducting due diligence in relation to business acquisitions and share purchases, including reviewing and advising on leases and licence agreements
  • acting for a private lending financial institution in relation to lodgement of mortgages and memorandum of common provisions, including due diligence and advice
  • acting in relation to sales of residential developments including preparation of sale and disclosure documents, registration of plans of subdivision and consolidation, registration of memorandum of common provisions and conveyancing services
  • acting in relation to the sale and acquisition of various commercial and residential premises, including preparation of sale and disclosure documents and due diligence, and acting in relation to various leasing matters for charitable organisations.
