Expertise

Jolene is a Senior Associate in the Property, Planning and Development Group. Her experience spans a range of property transactions, with a particular focus on retail and commercial leasing, and general property due diligence. She acts for and advises major institutional investors, REITs and some of Australia’s leading listed and unlisted property groups on all aspects of retail, commercial, and industrial tenancy leasing.

Jolene is also part of the Property Council of Australia – 500 Women in Property FY26 cohort.

Experience

Jolene’s experience includes:

  • acting for and advising The GPT Group, one of Australia’s largest diversified property groups, with a portfolio spanning major shopping centres and premium office towers, across a range of leasing and property matters, including:
    • preparing and negotiating an agreement for lease and lease with a high-profile international retail tenant for a large-format tenancy as part of centre redevelopment. The transaction establishes an international bookstore’s first flagship Melbourne store as an anchor tenant, with café operations licenced within the premises;
    • preparing and negotiating an agreement for lease and lease with a prominent Australian casual burger chain as part of centre redevelopment;
    • drafting, negotiating and reviewing leases, incentive deeds, works deeds, licences, variations, surrenders, assignments, and ancillary agreements in the specialty retail leasing space and for transactions involving major and anchor tenants in Victoria and New South Wales;
    • drafting and advising on digital screen agreements across its national portfolio; and
    • assisting on the preparation, finalisation and ongoing updating of precedent materials.
  • acting for Frasers Property Group on its retail hubs in Victoria and New South Wales
  • acting for IPG Funds Management on its retail and commercial leasing portfolios in Victoria
  • acting for The Salvation Army on its retail portfolio in Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania
  • acting for and advising Scentre Group on leasing and property matters across its Westfield shopping centres in Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory
  • advising a major institutional investor and one of Australia’s largest property fund managers on its retail and commercial leasing portfolio encompassing regional shopping centres in Victoria
  • preparing, negotiating and advising on sale and purchase documentation for real estate capital transactions, including coordinating settlements
  • conducting comprehensive property and lease due diligence in connection with the merger of the Maritime Superannuation Fund (valued at approximately $6–8 billion) into the Hostplus Superannuation Fund (valued at approximately $100 billion) – a landmark, multi-faceted transaction.
