Grace is an experienced commercial property lawyer, with a focus on capital transactions, development and energy transition projects. She is a trusted advisor to REITs, hotel owners and operators, developers and renewable energy proponents, providing strategic advice across complex transactions and large-scale projects.

Grace’s expertise includes:  

  • acquisitions and disposals of commercial, industrial, retail and tourism assets
  • fund-through agreements
  • joint ventures and property funds
  • off-the-plan projects and title structuring
  • land acquisitions for energy projects
  • general property advice such as leasing, easements and body corporate matters.

Grace was recognised in the 2022 edition of Doyles Guide as a rising star lawyer in Property for Queensland.

Experience

Grace’s recent experience includes:

Capital Transactions

  • acting for a listed REIT in relation to property and business acquisitions across Australia, including existing facilities, development sites, turn-key and fund through agreements
  • acting for National Storage REIT in relation to the establishment of the National Storage Ventures Fund
  • acting for RACT in relation to the disposal of the “Destinations” tourism business, including the iconic Freycinet Lodge, Cradle Mountain Hotel, Strahan Village and Gordon River Cruises
  • acting for Stamford Land Corporation Limited in relation to the sale of Sir Stamford Circular Quay, Sydney and Dynons Plaza, Perth
  • advising clients in relation to the acquisition, development and disposal of island resorts and other tourism assets.

Development

  • titling and off-the-plan contract matters for flat land developments and layered community title schemes, including community management statements and body corporate agreements
  • acting for property developers in relation to joint venture arrangements and development management agreements.

Energy Transition

  • acting for renewable energy developers in relation to option agreements, contracts to acquire land, agreements to lease, leases, easements, access licences, laydown and washdown licences, disturbance deeds, mortgagee tripartite deeds, grazing leases and other tenure related documentation, including for Cubico Sustainable Investments in relation to the Wambo Wind Farm and European Energy in relation to various solar projects in Queensland
  • acting for CarbonLink in relation to carbon farming services agreements and security deeds dealing with ACCUs, considering regulatory matters for dealing with ACCUs
  • conducting due diligence in relation to project land, including advising on land tenure and overlapping resource authorities (i.e. mining and petroleum leases) for Trina Solar and RFV.
