Holding Redlich is proud to continue its longstanding partnership with the S.H. Ervin Gallery as Principal Sponsor of the Salon des Refusés People’s Choice Award, a relationship that has spanned more than two decades, beginning in 1999.
The annual Salon des Refusés offers an alternative platform for works submitted to the Archibald and Wynne Prizes, showcasing a selection of diverse, humorous and experimental artworks. These works reflect contemporary art practices and present varied approaches to portraiture and interpretations of the Australian landscape.
As part of Holding Redlich's ongoing support for the arts, the firm was delighted to host a special evening at the Gallery, bringing together clients, media and members of the arts community to view the artworks on display. A selection of photos from the event can be viewed in our online gallery below.
On the night, the firm also awarded the People's Choice Award to landscape painter Mary Tonkin. Her winning artwork, Turmoil, Kalorama, was created at the foot of Corhanwarrabul in Victoria and features native Australian plants, including Wonga Vine, Forest Wire-grass and Tall Sword-sedge, dancing in a time of great turmoil in the world.
