Partners Andrew Stone and Dhanushka Jayawardena appointed to committees of Law Council of Australia

Holding Redlich partners Andrew Stone and Dhanushka Jayawardena have been appointed to the Financial Services Committee and the Taxation Committee, respectively, within the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.

Andrew is an investment funds lawyer with 20 years of experience in the investment management and financial services industry. He has acted for the largest global asset management groups in the establishment and operation of investment funds across all asset classes, including real estate and infrastructure, public and private equity, and public and private debt. His practice includes fund and fund-like structures, club structures, funds of one, separately managed accounts, exchange-traded funds, co-investments, joint ventures and other capital partnerships. He also acts on asset-management-related mergers and acquisitions and private market asset transactions. 

Andrew's appointment to the Financial Services Committee recognises his expertise in financial services law and his ongoing commitment to shaping regulatory practice, while supporting clients with strategic, industry-informed advice.

Dhanushka is an experienced tax lawyer and Chartered Tax Adviser, with more than a decade of experience advising on all Australian taxation aspects of mergers and acquisitions, funds management, real estate, insolvency and restructuring and finance. He has advised on the acquisition and divestment of large-scale real estate investments throughout the fund life cycle, which required consideration of Australia’s A/MIT regimes, withholding taxes and landholder duty provisions across multiple jurisdictions.

Dhanushka's appointment to the Taxation Committee recognises his deep expertise in taxation law and reinforces his commitment to remaining at the forefront of tax law developments, anticipating legislative changes, engaging with regulators and providing clients with strategic, forward-looking advice.
