Holding Redlich integrates Lexis Create+ to transform legal drafting in Microsoft 365

12 November 25 - Media Release

National law firm Holding Redlich is implementing Lexis Create+, an AI-powered and personalised legal drafting solution that transforms how lawyers create complex legal documents directly within Microsoft 365. The technology allows practitioners to deliver high-quality, accurate and consistent results with greater efficiency.

The new tool integrates agentic AI with LexisNexis legal research content and shared internal knowledge to create a seamless drafting environment inside Microsoft 365. The result is faster, more accurate and consistently high-quality legal drafting in a single workspace.

Keren Smith, Chief Knowledge Officer at Holding Redlich, said the firm was focused on realising the time-saving and quality-enhancing benefits of AI-enabled drafting.

“We are excited to unlock the efficiencies of Lexis Create+ to elevate both our internal workflows and the quality of service we deliver to clients. Following the successful onboarding of our power users, we rolled out comprehensive training to all practitioners, focusing on precision prompting and rigorous fact-checking techniques,” Smith said.

“Embedding AI into the drafting process has enabled us to maintain accuracy and oversight while increasing the pace of document preparation. The technology supports our focus on delivering high-quality work while maintaining professional standards,” she said.

Key features of Lexis Create+ include proprietary technology that links internal documents and clauses to drafting workflows, making it easy to find and reuse past clauses and definitions. It connects with iManage, SharePoint, Google Drive and other document management systems to support smooth access to relevant information.

The tool also provides lawyers with direct access to LexisNexis content they subscribe to, supported by AI-powered drafting and summarisation tools. This enables users to produce detailed, well-referenced documents with improved efficiency while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

To protect data integrity and confidentiality, Lexis Create+ uses advanced encryption, permission mirroring and robust access controls. These features help practitioners meet client and regulatory expectations for secure information handling.

Accessible within Lexis Create+, Protégé is the legal generative AI assistant that works alongside users to deliver personalised drafts.

Because it is embedded in Microsoft Word, it enables lawyers to refine documents, surface relevant clauses and precedents, and produce higher-quality work within the same environment where they already draft.

Users can identify relevant case law and legal precedents, as well as locate proven language from their firm’s repository to strengthen legal arguments and drafting precision.

The tool also incorporates capabilities from LexisNexis’ acquisition of Henchman, which adds advanced clause management features to the drafting process, complementing Create+ proofreading and library tools. This combination allows for smoother collaboration and improved quality assurance in document preparation.

Katy Fixter, Managing Director of LexisNexis Asia Pacific, said the collaboration with Holding Redlich demonstrates the value of integrating trusted legal content with next-generation drafting technology.

“We are proud to partner with Holding Redlich, a leading Australian law firm recognised for its specialist expertise and commitment to innovation. Our ongoing collaboration supports lawyers in making confident decisions and delivering excellent client service,” Fixter said.

Lexis Create+ enables legal professionals to prepare and refine documents by surfacing relevant clauses and definitions from firm repositories and trusted LexisNexis content. This assists lawyers in maintaining quality while reducing the time spent on repetitive drafting.

Holding Redlich’s collaboration with LexisNexis reflects its commitment to exploring responsible innovation and the integration of emerging technologies into legal practice.

“These tools assist lawyers in producing accurate and timely documents, while the human element remains essential. Our aim is to ensure technology continues to complement professional judgment and legal expertise,” Smith concludes.
