Leeanne is a specialist planning and environmental lawyer with significant experience gained over the last 35 years. She provides comprehensive, practical and commercial advice to her clients. With her extensive knowledge of the legislation affecting land use and development in Queensland, Leeanne advises developers, landowners and a myriad of consultants on a complex range of statutory and regulatory matters. 

Additionally, Leeanne has a substantial general commercial litigation background in Queensland jurisdictions, acting for a variety of clients. Leeanne achieves positive and commercially driven results representing local and national clients in the civil and planning jurisdictions, routinely appearing as solicitor advocate in complex litigation. 

Experience

Leeanne's recent experience includes:

  • acting for a quarry owner/operator to successfully prosecute a submitter appeal in Cape York
  • acting for the owner/operator of a copper mine in North Queensland in proceedings brought by the Department of Environment under the Environmental Protection Act (Qld)
  • representing private land owners and developers in diverse Planning and Environment Court proceedings
  • acting for individual community members, community groups, affected neighbours in various proceedings challenging development approvals
  • drafting and negotiating infrastructure agreements
  • conducting due diligence in relation to environment and planning matters
  • acting in environmental prosecutions, prosecuting and defending, in the planning and environment jurisdiction
  • acting in administrative review proceedings.
