Stephanie is experienced in construction litigation and dispute resolution, infrastructure contract administration and project delivery issues, claims under security of payment legislation nationally and regulatory compliance.

Experience

Stephanie has specialist dispute resolution experience across the building and construction industry, having acted for a wide range of first tier clients, principals and contractors as well as regulatory bodies. Stephanie’s focus is on providing a pragmatic approach to clients throughout all project phases, with a particular emphasis on assisting clients with project delivery issues during the construction delivery and post-construction phases. 

Stephanie’s experience includes:

  • acting in Supreme Court Proceedings for the owners of Brisbane Airport for claims in excess of $100 million in relation to design works
  • claims made under Security for Payment Legislation (in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory) including preparing payment claims, payment schedules, adjudication applications and responses
  • acting for clients in the energy and resources space, including for projects such as the Gold Coast Seaway project, Merredin Solar Farm, Haughton Solar Farm and the Hamilton and Whitsundays Solar Farms
  • advising and acting on behalf of owners, principals and contractors in relation to issues and/or disputes that commonly arise under commercial construction and infrastructure contracts
  • preparing contract administration documents for all levels in the contractual chain, including contract administration manuals and contractual notices such as various claims and assessments (delays/variations), notices of dispute and breach notices
  • significant regulatory experience advising and acting for the Queensland Building and Construction Commission including providing advice on applicable statutory requirements
  • negotiating and drafting contracts, including providing practical advice for clients on the implications of desired approaches.
