Roxanne is a senior legal pro bono leader with experience managing national pro bono services, community partnerships, and legal service delivery for diverse, disadvantaged, and culturally diverse communities. She has worked extensively with not-for-profit organisations, leading national pro bono programs, managing risk and compliance frameworks, building partnerships across law firms, government, and community organisations, and maintaining an active legal practice across a broad range of legal issues.

Social Justice and Pro Bono Leadership

  • leading and delivering pro bono legal services, legal education initiatives, and partnerships designed to improve access to justice for vulnerable and marginalised clients, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people experiencing financial disadvantage, and community organisations seeking legal assistance
  • developing and managing relationships with law firms, government agencies, community organisations, and sector stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration, service delivery, and social impact
  • overseeing organisational compliance, risk management, and the implementation of continuous legal practice improvement initiatives.

Community Engagement and Cultural Capability

  • working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, organisations, and community leaders to deliver culturally aware and accessible legal services
  • advising and engaging with diverse, vulnerable, and disadvantaged communities, including people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • travelling extensively to regional and remote communities to provide legal advice, education, and stakeholder engagement
  • demonstrating a strong understanding of the importance of culturally safe, accessible, and community-centred service delivery.

Law Reform and Advocacy

  • contributing to law reform and sector advocacy on issues affecting creative communities, including copyright and artificial intelligence, Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) protections, employment and superannuation rights, and initiatives aimed at improving income security and professional conditions for creative practitioners
  • playing a key role in national advocacy efforts to strengthen protections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and creative works through the Fake Art Harms Culture campaign, contributing to policy reform discussions that led to a Productivity Commission inquiry and the Australian Government’s commitment to introduce dedicated ICIP protections through legislation.
