Expertise

Damien is a Senior Associate in our Workplace Relations & Safety group.  He has experience in employment and industrial relations law, workplace health and safety, anti-discrimination, defamation and general litigation.  He has acted for private and public clients in various industries across federal and state jurisdictions and has advocacy experience in the Federal Circuit Court and Fair Work Commission.

Experience

Damien’s experience includes:

  • acting for regulatory bodies in workplace health and safety litigation in the Industrial Magistrates Court of Queensland and in employment litigation in the Full Court of the Federal Court, Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court
  • acting for an employer in proceedings regarding breaches of employment contract and defamation
  • acting for employers and employees in unfair dismissal and general protection proceedings in the Fair Work Commission
  • undertaking workplace investigations into allegations of inappropriate workplace conduct and behaviour
  • advising employers on a range of workplace matters including obligations arising from the Fair Work Act 2009 and other industrial relations and anti-discrimination legislation
  • advising employers on workplace health and safety policies and practices.
