Caitlin specialises in commercial disputes like intellectual property, corporate, insolvency, property, leasing, defamation and competition and consumer disputes.

Caitlin has recently worked as an in-house legal counsel for a global beauty brand and advised on matters in relation to marketing/advertising claims, intellectual property matters, key company contracts, cyber security and privacy issues.


Examples of Caitlin’s experience include acting and advising:


  • parties in a large, complex mining joint venture dispute in the Supreme Court of Queensland
  • a large Gold Coast property developer in the High Court of Australia in construing conditions of a development approval
  • a commercial client and its employee in defending a misuse of confidential information proceeding in the Supreme Court of Queensland
  • about various defamation matters for individuals in traditional and digital media.

Competition and consumer

  • a large property developer in the Federal Court of Australia concerning a multi-stage mixed-use development on the Gold Coast in relation to a claim for misleading or deceptive conduct
  • a client in the Supreme Court of South Australia in connection with misleading or deceptive conduct.


  • minority shareholders in Supreme Court of Queensland proceedings and Federal Court of Australia proceedings seeking orders for the winding up of a company on “just and equitable” grounds and on grounds of oppression and unfair conduct
  • administrators and liquidators including for the recovery of loans and preference payments.

  • in various trademark infringement matters.

Property and leasing

  • a local government authority in the District Court of Queensland for the recovery of payments owed under a lease
