Joanne is a former Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Assistant Commissioner who was responsible for the management of the largest audits and disputes for the ATO in the Private Wealth area.
Joanne was also the ATO’s lead for tax issues associated with the property and construction industry. She set up and chaired the ATO’s external property & construction forum.
Additionally, Joanne was involved in tax litigation and technical issues impacting individuals.
For 19 years, Joanne held senior roles in the ATO, with 10 years as Assistant Commissioner, dealing with compliance and technical issues relating to private groups, SMEs and individuals. Prior to joining the ATO Joanne held senior roles in law and finance.
In 2020 Joanne was recognised as a finalist in The Tax Institute’s SME Tax Adviser of the year awards. She is also a State Councillor for the Queensland Branch of The Tax Institute.
