HVIA budget submission calls for bonus investment allowance
A bonus investment allowance in the forthcoming budget would incentivise capital investment on heavy vehicle factory equipment and for operators purchasing trucks and trailers. AMSA: Seafarer welfare during COVID-19 outbreak
This includes the ability of seafarers to be repatriated home at the end of their service or to join a ship at a foreign port. The Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC) has strict controls on service periods at sea and seafarers’ rights to repatriation. The Tokyo MOU has guidelines for shipping companies which will be available online.

Patrick terminals – landside access & terminal ancillary charges: Effective from 9 March 2020
Patrick have announced increases to various Landside Access and Terminal Fees, effective 9 March 2020.
The Landside charge will be applied to both road and rail transport operators for all full container movements, both import and export, made at the Terminals. In addition, Patrick has adjusted its other Terminal Ancillary charges. The latest Landside and Terminal Ancillary Tariffs have been published on Patrick’s website.

No 19 Heavy Vehicle National Legislation Amendment Regulation 2020
This Regulation is made under the Heavy Vehicle National Law Act 2012 (HVNL). The HVNL regulates matters about the operation of heavy vehicles, such as their mass and dimensions, vehicle safety standards, the work and rest hours of heavy vehicle drivers and other measures to manage fatigue, heavy vehicle accreditation, speed compliance and the use of intelligent transport systems. In accordance with section 730 of the HVNL, this Regulation which makes a range of minor amendments to the Heavy Vehicle (Mass, Dimension and Loading) National Regulation, and the Heavy Vehicle (Vehicle Standards) National Regulation.
