Joanne Keo

Joanne practises in the commercial property area specialising in retail and commercial leasing.

Joanne commenced her career in the legal industry as a paralegal for a specialist commercial law firm in Sydney in 2007. During Joanne’s role as a paralegal she developed extensive practical experience in property law, commercial and corporate law and litigation.

Whilst working full time, Joanne graduated with a Diploma in Law from the Legal Profession Admission Board in 2015. After completing a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, excelling in Property Practice and Civil Litigation Practice, Joanne was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2016. 

Experience

Joanne’s recent experience includes:

  • acting for Scentre Group on its retail and commercial leasing portfolio in NSW and national transactions
  • acting for The Salvation Army (as Tenant and Landlord) on its retail and commercial leasing portfolio in NSW 
  • acting for The Salvation Army (as Tenant) on a Lease Review project of over 450 national retail leases
  • acting for and advising Aventus Group on various leasing matters
  • acting for and advising Noni B Group (now known as Mosaic Brands) on its national leasing portfolio 
  • drafting and negotiating retail and commercial agreement for leases, leases, sub-leases, incentive deeds, COVID-19 relateddeeds, variation of leases, licences and consent to transfer lease deeds and ancillary agreements for a range of landlords and tenants
  • drafting and negotiating various agreements including franchise agreements, sale and purchase of retail and commercial properties, loan agreements, general security agreements and associated documents.
