Andrea is a Senior Associate with experience providing advice to clients in respect of a broad range of matters across the building and construction, engineering, civil works, energy, and development industries. Andrea has experience in providing advice over the entire lifecycle of a project and regularly acts on behalf of Principals, Superintendents and Contractors at all levels.

Andrea provides clients with practical advice and assistance with dispute resolution, litigation, contractual interpretation issues, legislative compliance requirements, claims management (including preparation of claims or defences and responses) and risk/claim advice for a variety of clients including the State government.

Andrea assists with complex litigation nationally and has acted for claimants and respondents in high value security of payment adjudications, across various jurisdictions and at all levels. She also has experience in domestic arbitration proceedings, as well as mediations for tier one materials manufacturers, international developers and Fortune 500 companies.

Andrea has been recognised as a 2023 Doyles Guide Rising Star in the Construction Law category. She has also published multiple articles in the Australian Construction Law newsletter, and has assisted in preparing Lexology’s Getting the Deal Through Construction Guide.

Experience

Andrea’s experience includes:

• acting for an international developer in relation to Supreme Court applications regarding previously unsettled issues of law regarding security, and in multiple adjudications
• instructing senior counsel in relation to a domestic arbitration for a tier one solar panel manufacturer
• acting on behalf of a Fortune 500 company regarding ongoing defects at secure facilities in New South Wales litigation
• assisting with preparation of expert evidence for multiple Supreme Court proceedings in various jurisdictions
• attending multiple mediations in various jurisdictions for international developers, product manufacturers, and maintenance contractors
• providing ad hoc and ongoing advice to State government departments regarding infrastructure projects, contractor management, claim related issues
• acting for a body corporate in relation to water ingress defects at high rise residential building to file proceedings within the limitation period, including obtaining instructions in relation to twenty-seven plaintiffs 
• preparing and filing of four adjudication applications within five week for specialist manufacturer in North Queensland against an international corporation to obtain a finding on contractual interpretation
• advising and negotiating in relation to deeds of settlement and release on multiple matters ranging from defect liability deeds to standstill deeds
• assisting with adjudication applications and responses for civil and building contractors, and Principals, including in relation to matters regarding delay and extensive defect rectification claims.
