Liat Blacher is a Special Counsel at Adviceline Injury Lawyers, predominantly assisting people affected by work-related injuries or medical negligence. She also has significant experience in traffic accident and public liability claims.
Demonstrating her passion for personal injury litigation, Liat has worked in this area exclusively for over 10 years. She has a strong desire to help people get the most out of their claim for compensation during this vulnerable time.
Liat is a member of the Australian Lawyers Alliance and has written numerous articles for the Law Institute Journal.
Liat is experienced across all Victorian civil jurisdictions having run cases for work injuries in the Magistrates’ Court, County Court and Supreme Court including damages trials for negligence. She has also had experience at appellate level in the Victorian Court of Appeal.
In addition to her work injury practice, her medical negligence practice is varied and extensive. She has been involved in cases dealing with birth trauma, delayed diagnoses, poor surgical outcomes and claims for families who have lost loved ones through medical negligence. She also has experience assisting families through coronial inquests. Her depth of knowledge in this area has allowed her to develop an ability to deal simultaneously with the emotional challenges of this area of law and medically and legally complex issues in order to give her clients compassionate but considered advice.
