Lilian has over a decade of experience advising clients in complex contract and property law transactions, particularly in the commercial and agribusiness space. Lilian has acted for large property trusts, multinational companies, financial institutions, investors, developers and small to medium enterprises.

She was a past agribusiness subcommittee member of the Australian China Business Council for a number of years. She is fluent in Cantonese and currently works closely with agribusiness industry professionals.


Lilian has experience in the following matters:


  • provided transactional, disposal and titling advice involving national plantation and forestry trusts
  • advised on structuring, acquiring and disposals of rural land and assets involving private and proprietary limited companies within the forestry, sugar and cattle industries in Queensland 
  • advised private clients in complex financial facilities and rural loan specific agreements, mortgage and personal property securities 
  • advised on leasing, licensing, indemnities and option agreements in the support of energy efficiency schemes surrounding solar and wind projects in Queensland 
  • negotiated pre-sale issues involving resumption and encroachment of rural land in Queensland
  • provided advice on contaminated and environmental rural land issues 
  • advised on transactional land transfers of rural family business assets.

  • resolved and settled family partnership disputes and drafted deeds of settlement and deeds of family arrangement
  • advised on indemnities under personal guarantees involving collateral financial facilities
  • advised on general financial facility arrangements for managed investment schemes
  • advised on release and indemnities to assist in protecting investment strategies for Australian private and proprietary limited companies 
  • facilitated family business succession planning structures for rural families in Queensland.
