Leah is a dispute resolution lawyer with more than six years of post-qualification experience. She began her career in Sydney, working on large and high profile financial services regulatory matters involving multiple regulators, and acquired experience on a broad range of litigious matters.

Leah moved to London in 2018, where she worked on a range of complex and strategic insurance disputes matters involving a range of insurers, policyholders and brokers.

Leah returned to Sydney in 2021 and has worked on commercial disputes with a focus on the financial services sector.


Leah’s recent experience includes:

  • representing a ‘big four’ accounting firm in a claim of auditor negligence brought in the Supreme Court of New South Wales
  • advising a global mining company on contentious coverage claims following a major mining disaster
  • advising an Asian reinsurer on insurance recoveries in the context of a dispute with global retrocessionaires
  • conducting investigations into a client’s potential exposure to a broker negligence claim in the Middle East and providing strategic advice on risk management
  • defending a global broker in a mediation against claims for breach of contract and negligence
  • acting for a major Australian bank in a number of high-profile regulatory investigations, including:
    • Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA) investigations in connection with the bank’s alleged breaches of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism legislation
    • ASIC and APRA investigations into the bank’s life insurance business, including its life insurance products and claims handling procedures
    • ASIC investigation into the bank’s financial planning and advice business.
