James Harding


James Harding is a Senior Associate in the Workplace Relations & Safety practice and Property and Real Estate practice.

James advises on all types of workplace issues, investigations and commercial transactions and has significant experience in managing complex workplace investigative issues and large-scale off-the-plan property transactions, sales for both corporate and private clients.

James has a small business and entrepreneurial background, having been involved with a number of successful small businesses including being an employer himself. This gives him a commercial insight that he can bring to client transactions.

As a qualified migration agent, James provides complex business and investment migration advice to overseas clients, looking to make acquisitions of residential, commercial and agricultural property in Australia.


James’ experience includes:

  • acting as a workplace dispute investigator for regional and remote Local Governments in a variety of complex disputes
  • acting for a number of State Government and National statutory bodies and charitable institutions in relation to their property transactional requirements in Queensland
  • provision of complex titling and structuring advice regarding State leasehold Islands in the Whitsundays
  • acting for and advising national lessors and shopping centre operators regarding COVID-19 related leasing issues
  • acting in the redevelopment, construction and retail leasing of the Trinity Beach ‘Beach House’ Retail Complex - $10,000,000
  • acting for an Australian Developer in the acquisition and subsequent off the plan contracts of a 50 lot residential development known as ‘Bluewater Park Trinity Beach’
  • acquisition of the 250 lot development site in Kewarra Beach known as ‘Greenfield’
  • acting in the acquisition and structuring of a million dollar swim school known as ‘C-Me-Swim’
  • acting in the sale of a multi-million dollar dentistry practice to a publicly listed entity
  • acting for a foreign developer in the acquisition of $2,600,000 residential land
  • provision of complex Foreign Investment Review Board Approval advice and Australian Foreign Acquirer Duty advice
  • provision of detailed migration advice relating to business, investment, sponsored-employment and family visas.
