Juanita has significant experience in the areas of environmental, planning and development and energy and resource law. Juanita advises on a variety of planning and environment matters mainly in the Queensland and Commonwealth jurisdiction.
Juanita has particular expertise in providing practical, strategic legal advice on State and Federal planning and environment approval processes for major infrastructure and mining resource projects, including under the Planning Act 2009 (Qld), Mineral Resources Act 1999 (Qld), Petroleum and Gas (Production Safety) Act 2004 (Qld), Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld) and Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) (EPBC Act).
Juanita has acted for a wide variety of clients in the Planning and Environment Court, Land Court and Supreme Court on a range of different matters. Juanita has also handled several litigious matters relating to development appeals, merits reviews and judicial reviews.
