Holding Redlich celebrates 16 years of its Brisbane office, appoints new partner

National law firm Holding Redlich is celebrating 16 years of operation of its Brisbane office.

During this time it has grown from a 200sqm office with one partner and one staff member to now occupying three floors in the Brisbane CBD with 112 staff including 18 partners.

This comes as new partner Andrew Hynd joins the Brisbane Corporate & Commercial group.

Andrew is a senior technology and intellectual property lawyer with more than 20 years’ experience advising government, government agencies, and private sector companies on technology and procurement issues. He has advised extensively on IT projects, especially software licensing, implementation and support, cloud services and privacy and data advice.

Andrew said he was delighted to join Holding Redlich, particularly at a time of significant change and innovation in the technology and intellectual property areas of law.

“Clients are facing an ever-increasing challenge to manage their IT arrangements, from properly acquiring cloud based software to ensuring their data and personal information is protected, compliant with various regimes, and properly valued and utilised,” Andrew said.

“Our team is well placed to assist them in navigating through these issues to a strong legal and commercial outcome.”

Holding Redlich’s National Managing Partner Ian Robertson welcomed Andrew, saying his expertise will increase the strength of the firm’s national information technology practice.

“Holding Redlich has a strong national technology and intellectual property team and Andrew’s appointment strengthens this further, particularly our information technology practice,” Ian said.

“Andrew’s appointment also adds depth to our government practice in Queensland. I am very pleased to welcome Andrew to our firm.”

Queensland Managing Partner Paul Venus said he was delighted to welcome Andrew at an exciting time for the Brisbane office.

“As the Brisbane office marks 16 years in operation, we continue to focus on our core practice while also expanding into some key new areas.

“We are delighted to have Andrew on board and he will be a key part of our corporate and commercial team.”
