QScript is Queensland’s read-only, real-time prescription monitoring system that alerts and notifies health practitioners to review a patient’s monitored medicine prescription history at the point of care and has now commenced. Penalties for non-compliance in using QScript are planned to start on 1 October, however AMA Queensland is advocating for a 12-month grace period to allow practitioners time to adapt to this new system. No 148 Public Health (Further Extension of Declared Public Health Emergency-COVID-19) Regulation (No. 3) 2021 (Qld)
Under section 323(1) of the Act, the regulation provides for the declared public health emergency to be extended for a further 90 days, until the end of the day on 26 December 2021, unless it is further extended, is repealed or the declared public health emergency ends under section 324 of the Act.
