Australian citizenship processing
The Government will hold online citizenship ceremonies via secure video link, to enable people to continue to become Australian citizens during the coronavirus crisis. Current health advice around COVID-19 means it is not possible for traditional, in-person citizenship ceremonies to be held. Applications for Australian citizenship are still able to be accepted during this period, though citizenship interviews and testing have been put on hold (06 April 2020).  More...

Coronavirus and temporary visa holders
The Government announces that, in line with changes being made for Australian citizens and permanent residents, most temporary visa holders with work rights will now be able to access their Australian superannuation to help support themselves during this crisis. Temporary visa holders who are unable to support themselves under these arrangements over the next six months are strongly encouraged to return home (04 April 2020).  More...

New visa to support Australian farmers
The Morrison Government has created a new visa extending the stay of critical seasonal workers to ensure the agricultural sector has the labour force it needs. Seasonal Worker Programme and Pacific Labour Scheme workers will have visa conditions relaxed and be given an option to extend their stay for up to one year (04 April 2020).  More...
